Linn-Mathes Inc. (LM) was established in 1919, and over the years, we have grown into one of the most respected residential and commercial construction companies in Chicago. Now in our third generation of family ownership and operation, we continue to uphold our unmatched dedication to client satisfaction, quality craftsmanship, and integrity at every level. With decades of experience and a diverse portfolio of completed projects, our team is ready to handle building and renovation projects of all kinds.

Our History

  • 1919

    Our company is founded by Nathan Linn. In the early years, we specialized in smaller residential and commercial jobs, including porches, renovations, storefronts, and others.

  • Mid 1970s

    Brad Mathes joined the company as a laborer and assistant project manager. Brad would later go on to become president of Linn-Mathes Inc.

  • Early 1980s

    Robert Mathes joined the company in the early part of the 1980s. Robert would later go on to become senior vice president of Linn-Mathes Inc.

  • Late 1980s

    The company is reincorporated, and our name is changed to Linn-Mathes, Inc.

  • 1982

    The company moved into our office location at 309 South Green Street in Chicago, where we continue to operate to this day.

  • 1992

    Bill Griffith started with Linn-Mathes Inc., and he remains as senior vice president and director of market-rate and mixed-use projects.

In nearly 100 years of operation, LM has completed projects for a long list of clients, working with many local architects and quality subcontractors.
